Local History

The Zonta Club of Findlay, established in 1959, has been serving our community for over 60 years. As part of Zonta International, our club resides in District 5 along with 26 other clubs throughout Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia. On an international level, our club supports the Zonta Foundation for Women, the Amelia Earhart Fund, the Zonta Says No To Violence Against Women Campaign, and has even had a local student win the international Young Woman in Public Affairs Award.

We have also participated in a District Conference project which made over 2300 birthing kits to be shipped to Haiti and Cambodia. On a local level we support Open Arms, Hope House, Habitat For Humanity, SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) and the Center For Safe & Healthy Children to name a few.

We have hosted several community events to raise awareness of human trafficking in our state. We raise money with annual sales of geraniums, Dietsch’s candy, and Wolfie’s Nuts, in order to award multiple scholarships each year to area students. We have also chartered a Z-Club at Liberty Benton High School which consist of high school students who volunteer their time and talents to making a difference in their school and community.
